Dual-Band Radio Offering Peak Data Rate up to 3.5 Gbps

The concurrent dual-band radios in ion12xe_h2 offers a combined peak data rate of 3.5 Gbps with up to 2.4 Gbps in the 5 GHz band and 1.15 Gbps in the 2.4 GHz band. It becomes the most preferred option when it comes to serving very high-density, high-capacity outdoor scenarios such as stadiums, mass transit facilities.

Bi-Directional, Multi- User, Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO)

The Access Point offers MU-MIMO and OFDMA which enable efficient data transmission when the number of concurrent users is high. MU-MIMO exploits spatial diversity while OFDMA uses frequency diversity to enable multi-user transmissions.

EasyMesh Networking

Eliminating the need for expensive cabling, Access Points automatically form a wireless mesh to extend network coverage. With self-healing and self-optimization functionality, in case of a mesh node failure, the surrounding nodes automatically re-connect and resume service without downtime. Support for EasyMesh means that ion12xe_h2 can form mesh with compatible Access Points

Fast Roaming

802.11r protocols facilitates fast roaming and BSS Transition Management. Initial handshake with the new AP takes place even before the client roams to the target AP. This eliminates the 4-way handshake during roaming, thus reducing the hand off time while ensuring security and QoS.

WMM (Wi-Fi Multi-Media) based QoS

WMM-based QoS leverages the IEEE802.11e standard to support quality of service required for voice and multimedia applications and enhances network performance. It is used to prioritize traffic, based on pre-defined access categories (voice, video, best effort and background) to ensure mission-critical applications have a higher priority of network access. Admission control and rate-limiting policies can also be implemented per AP, per SSID and per user for QoS control.

Centralized control

Centralized management of the entire network on our highly intuitive, flexible, and scalable AI-powered management platform, Canvas. It enables hierarchical and flat network topologies and flexible configuration management from global to device level. Canvas provides deep visibility into the network with insightful dashboards and powerful drill-down capabilities for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

TIP OpenWiFi Compatible

The ion12xe_h2 Access Point supports TIP OpenWiFi firmware also. In this mode of operation, it can be managed via third party TIP controllers, in addition to HFCL’s own TIP controller.
