ion4 is a cloud-managed 2x2:2 802.11ac Wave 2 compatible Access Point that is uniquely designed for high-performance, next-generation outdoor networks. The ruggedized AP is well equipped to cater to environmentally challenging locations such as coastal areas, tough terrains like hills and deserts.
Dual-Band Radio Offering Peak Data Rate of up to 1.27 Gbps
A dual-band radio offers a combined peak data rate of 1.27 Gbps with up to 867 Mbps in the 5 GHz band and 400 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band.
Create Multiple Networks
Configure multiple SSIDs per Access Point to efficiently segment the use of the network across multiple use cases. ion4 Access Points support 16 SSID per radio.
Band Steering & Load Balancing Capability
In highly congested environments, the Access Point automatically moves dual-band client devices onto the wider 5GHz band for faster connections. Multiple Access Points deployed in proximity forming a single network also ensures that the load is balanced among the Access Points for optimum network performance.
Wi-Fi Alliance Certified for Passpoint 2.0
In addition to the IEEE standards, ion4 is also Wi-Fi Alliance certified for Passpoint 2.0. This improves the user experience by offering mobile data offloading, enterprise-class device provisioning, and credential management for enterprise and other private networks.
WPA2 Personal & Enterprise Support
It is equipped with an array of business-class security features. The wireless Access Point gives your business full control over access rights with WPA2-Personal, WPA2-Enterprise, and Captive Portal Authentication. Rogue AP detection and prevention helps administrators identify authorized Access Points across the network, while MAC address filtering provides an additional layer of protection.
Mesh Certified
The entire Wi-Fi Network functions on 802.11s Mesh Technology thus eliminating the need for expensive cabling. Access Points automatically form a mesh and provide connectivity in every possible corner. With self-healing and self-optimization functionality, in case of a mesh node failure, the surrounding nodes automatically re-connect and resume service without downtime. Nodes identify the best next-hop to connect automatically.

Multiple Input and Multiple Output: Dual-band concurrent operation in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands multiplies capacity by simultaneous transmission to multiple devices making this one of the fastest Indoor Access Point options available in the market in its category.
